David Jones Biography

David Jones is the producer behind some of Beatport’s biggest chart toppers!

Prior to becoming a house artist, David Jones gained extensive experience as a producer through several tracks ranging in genres and top charting in several countries.  Between 2007 and 2008 David Jones, with his friend and business partner Neuroxyde each created their own label, Starlight and Neurotraxx, in which they took responsibilities as both A&R and main producers. Since then, David has been focusing on developing his Artist profile; his many releases strongly contributing to Starlight quickly being widely perceived as the rising star in house music.

2009 was a great year for David; he topped Beatport’s House Chart twice, first with “Thriller” and then with “Without Me,” his own rework of Michael Jackson’s and Eminem’s classic hits. Both tracks were co-produced with Aqua Diva (Barbara Tanzini’s alias), David’s partner in the Diva & Jones project.

David’s “Thriller” enjoyed massive DJ support and topped Beatport’s ‘Year’s Best Seller 2009’ in the house category for five weeks in a row, beating tracks such as Dennis Ferrer’s  “Hey, Hey”, Swedish House Mafia’s “Leave the World Behind” and Armand Van Helden’s “Funk Phenomena”. This track was also selected by BBC Radio 1 for their special December Mixmag cover CD.  Massive support to his tracks combined with the high quality of all his productions pushed David to the top of the Beatport charts more than once and established him as one of the most notable breakthrough house artists. In the following months David was releasing his own music and enjoying growing demand as a remixer.  Artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Coolio, Milton Jackson, Shara Nelson, Jazz Bit, Da Hool, Sergio Fernandez have all requested David’s touch and many of his mixes have been released through both major and independent labels such as Ultra, Time, Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, Spinning, Superstar, Rise, Kontor, Vidisco, Universal . At the end of 2010 David entered MN2S’s roster and is currently being booked worldwide.

Throughout 2011, David created remixes and productions for labels such as Hed Kandi (Disco Revenge – Mr Devil), Juicy Music (Dopeness), Starlight (Feelove),  Azuli (If Only Alarms Didn’t Ring) and Tiger Records (Fragma – Toca’s Miracle) that became some of the best sellers of the year. He hit the top 10’s on Beatport more than twenty times last year with collaborations as a re-mixer and producer with artists like Robbie Rivera, Oliver Twizt, Alex Kenji, Boy George, Fragma and others. Also in 2011, David played at many European festivals, including appearances in Eastern Europe. These travel opportunities have all contributed to the start of a career as a top class international DJ.

His first official music video for Emotions, produced with Alex Kenji, featuring Aqua Diva was released in early 2012. In just 7 days, it reached more than 250,000 views on the Kontor/Spinnin YouTube channel with interest in already growing internationally among remix artists.
This, combined with the effect of the new cross over tracks have made David stand out as an artist in the international house music scene. David Jones’ name has become such a seal of quality that Armin Van Buuren’s label Armada have asked him to mix a compilation for the beginning of the year ‘15 Funky House Tunes – Selected by David Jones.’ He has also selected and mixed the compilation for Miami 2012 for Azuli- the most important compilation of the year for one of the most historical house brands. Stay tuned for more news about new collaborations with cr2, Azuli, Spinnin’ and

DROP GOBLIN

Since the late 90′s Alexander Azzi, aka “Drop Goblin” has been no stranger to the Electronic Dance Music industry. At the start of his career, he was discovered by Hardcore/Gabber Producer “Rob GEE” at the legendary Limelight in NYC. Throughout the next 6 or so years, Azzi made a sucessful name in the aggressive dance scene under the name “Atroa”, performing a Live P.A. and releasing vinyl record EP’s as well as infiltrating countless compilation CD’s with his productions.

Taking a few years off after becoming bored with the Hardcore/Gabber genres, he soon found himself starting to miss the enjoyment of performing for the crowd and working full time in the studio, so in the beginning of 2011, Azzi decided it was time to make a strong comeback, and “Drop Goblin” was birthed.

Focusing primarily on the heavy bass sounds, it was very clear from the start that Drop Goblin was about to make a lasting impression in the EDM industry once more. Being picked up and signed early to Play Me Records, Drop Goblin released his breakthrough “Journey” inspired song “Dubstep, Believe It” and he was again back in the swing of things.

Since making his return, Drop Goblin has put together a unique and energetic dual iPad performance, and has continuously been pumping out fresh new bass heavy music on a regular basis, and making his name a familiar sight on the charts.

MANTIS

Comprised of producers/dj’s Taylor Scott and Paul Ollinger, Mantis was formed in early 2011. Shortly after releasing their first track, ‘Feast’, Mantis began gaining speed and notoriety in Atlanta and surrounding areas. After only a few months of producing, they were releasing original tracks on Play Me, Heavy Artillery, and BroTown Records while making a name for themselves outside of Georgia and even the country.

Mantis’ very first EP, ‘All Worlds’, hit number #10 on Beatport dubstep releases in the first couple days, setting a standard for their future releases. Since then, Mantis’ tunes have been receiving support from the likes of Liquid Stranger, Downlink, Figure, Cyberoptics, Diesel, Genetix, Persist, and many more. Known for throwing down a live show with unmatched energy and aggression and only the heaviest of the heaviest bass music, Mantis has begun building a reputation for being some of the “dirtiest” new producers in the scene. Only time will tell what comes next from these guys… straight from the A.

VIBEIZM

Combining to form the dubstep and electro powerhouse collective known as Vibeizm, Leeds based DJ Alex “Squeaks!” Street and Nukleuz, Big In Ibiza & BassDeVision in-house producer Josh “JAKAZiD” McInnes came together for the first time in January 2012. After dropping some killer original dubplates and outstanding remixes for the likes of Coven, MC Flipside, Paul Morrell, Jen Lasher, Sporty-O and more, producer Josh McInnes and DJ Alex Street teamed up to create the ultimate recorded and live experience for their fans taking the Vibeizm act to a whole new level. With much more to come in 2012, be sure to keep an eye on this fast emerging act.

Born in 1991, with years of DJing experience under his belt, Alex Street has DJ’d across the UK and played at some of the craziest clubs on the Ibiza shores. Currently a resident of The Warehouse, Leeds and the 1,000+ capacity White Noise, Cambridge, Alex is known for his high energy sets combining floor filing smashers with the hottest upcoming productions from some of the lesser known producers in the scene. Spinning a mixture of Dubstep, DnB, Future Garage and Electro in his sets, the club comes alive with a mixture of musical styles aimed to lift the roof and give the punters an unforgettable experience. Renowned for his mixing and mash-up abilities, Alex soon found himself a key contributor to the Vibeizm project, teaming with the mighty Josh McInnes in early 2012. Production prodigy Josh exploded onto the UK Hardcore scene in 2004 when his “Cilit Bang” release charted at #3 in the BBC Indie chart. Subsequently snapped up by Nukleuz Records, he later replaced Tom Neville as Nukleuz and Big In Ibiza’s in-house engineer and operating under the pseudonyms JAKAZiD, Cut & Splice and Joshkovsky, multi-talented Josh turned his hand to the production of Dubstep in 2009 after hundreds of house, electro and UK hardcore releases.

With releases on Big In Ibiza, BassDeVision, Play Me Too Records, 2 Much Bass Records & LU10 Records and production support championed from the likes of Toddla T, Kissy Sell Out, Hatcha, Dubba Jonny, MRK1, Koven, Robdabank, Lost, Jakes, Quartus Saul, TBMA, Hellfire Machina, Reid Speed, Tim Ismag, Dirt Monkey, Maksim MC, DarkElixir, Metaphase, Cotti, Phrenik, We Bang, Enigma Dubz, J:Kenzo, MC Flipside, Wonkap, Inja, ANiMAL, DJ Allbury (RinseFM), Oblivion, Obsidian, Refix, Baconisonfire (FilthFM), Event Horizon (FilthFM) and many more, the Vibeizm boys are turning some heads and much more is just round the corner!
