David Jones Biography

David Jones is the producer behind some of Beatport’s biggest chart toppers!

Prior to becoming a house artist, David Jones gained extensive experience as a producer through several tracks ranging in genres and top charting in several countries.  Between 2007 and 2008 David Jones, with his friend and business partner Neuroxyde each created their own label, Starlight and Neurotraxx, in which they took responsibilities as both A&R and main producers. Since then, David has been focusing on developing his Artist profile; his many releases strongly contributing to Starlight quickly being widely perceived as the rising star in house music.

2009 was a great year for David; he topped Beatport’s House Chart twice, first with “Thriller” and then with “Without Me,” his own rework of Michael Jackson’s and Eminem’s classic hits. Both tracks were co-produced with Aqua Diva (Barbara Tanzini’s alias), David’s partner in the Diva & Jones project.

David’s “Thriller” enjoyed massive DJ support and topped Beatport’s ‘Year’s Best Seller 2009’ in the house category for five weeks in a row, beating tracks such as Dennis Ferrer’s  “Hey, Hey”, Swedish House Mafia’s “Leave the World Behind” and Armand Van Helden’s “Funk Phenomena”. This track was also selected by BBC Radio 1 for their special December Mixmag cover CD.  Massive support to his tracks combined with the high quality of all his productions pushed David to the top of the Beatport charts more than once and established him as one of the most notable breakthrough house artists. In the following months David was releasing his own music and enjoying growing demand as a remixer.  Artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Coolio, Milton Jackson, Shara Nelson, Jazz Bit, Da Hool, Sergio Fernandez have all requested David’s touch and many of his mixes have been released through both major and independent labels such as Ultra, Time, Hed Kandi, Ministry of Sound, Spinning, Superstar, Rise, Kontor, Vidisco, Universal . At the end of 2010 David entered MN2S’s roster and is currently being booked worldwide.

Throughout 2011, David created remixes and productions for labels such as Hed Kandi (Disco Revenge – Mr Devil), Juicy Music (Dopeness), Starlight (Feelove),  Azuli (If Only Alarms Didn’t Ring) and Tiger Records (Fragma – Toca’s Miracle) that became some of the best sellers of the year. He hit the top 10’s on Beatport more than twenty times last year with collaborations as a re-mixer and producer with artists like Robbie Rivera, Oliver Twizt, Alex Kenji, Boy George, Fragma and others. Also in 2011, David played at many European festivals, including appearances in Eastern Europe. These travel opportunities have all contributed to the start of a career as a top class international DJ.

His first official music video for Emotions, produced with Alex Kenji, featuring Aqua Diva was released in early 2012. In just 7 days, it reached more than 250,000 views on the Kontor/Spinnin YouTube channel with interest in already growing internationally among remix artists.
This, combined with the effect of the new cross over tracks have made David stand out as an artist in the international house music scene. David Jones’ name has become such a seal of quality that Armin Van Buuren’s label Armada have asked him to mix a compilation for the beginning of the year ‘15 Funky House Tunes – Selected by David Jones.’ He has also selected and mixed the compilation for Miami 2012 for Azuli- the most important compilation of the year for one of the most historical house brands. Stay tuned for more news about new collaborations with cr2, Azuli, Spinnin’ and

STARKEY – USA

PJ Geissinger aka Starkey is blessed with musical arrangement skills that would leave most composers green faced with envy. This combined with his high production ethic makes him a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philadelphia can create, his sound hits hard and is littered with bass and colourful audio frequencies. If you like grime, dubstep, hip hop and all things “street bass” then Starkey’s hard edged spaced out crunk is the sound for you.
2008 saw Starkey selected for Mary Anne Hobb’s low end special “Generation Bass”. 2 years later in 2010 he was again selected by MAH for the “Building a beat” special where he crafted a track from scratch in the space of 2hrs live on air.
Starkey is also co-owner of the Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey Record labels, releasing the freshest output from around the globe. This combined with his fortnightly radio show on Sub FM has positioned him as one of the tastemakers to emerge out of the bass heavy underground.
Starkey’s 2nd full-length album for the seminal Planet Mu label was released in April of 2010. Entitled, Ear Drums and Black Holes, it garnered rave reviews with DJ Mag giving the album a 9/10 album of the month rating and suggesting it “could be dubstep’s ‘Sgt. Pepper and the Lonely Hearts Club Band’.” NME said it was “a hell of a lot of fun” and Brainer called it a “dazzling record”.
The past year has seen Starkey releasing on Civil Music with the much lauded “Space Traitor Vols. 1 & 2”, as well as Ninja Tune with the genre-defying “Open the Pod Bay Doors” EP.

Recent remixes include Tinie Tempah, Armand Van Helden, Gorilla Zoe, Uffie, Tempa T, Zomby, Inner Party System, The Constellations, Kano and The Foals to name a few!! Current writing and production sessions with Guy Sigsworth (Bjork, Diana Vickers, Imogen Heap, Britney Spears) are proving fruitful with songs being passed around various major recording artists such as Kelis, Missy Elliot, MIA, Britney Spears, Dizzee Rascal and more. Starkey is currently working on his 3rd full-length album due for release in 2012…. stay tuned.

SON OF KICK – FRANCE

Producer, DJ, vocalist and multi instrumentalist Son Of Kick is making waves with his bumping, super-charged live set.  A bass-feast packed full of electro, dubstep, heavy grooves and the insanely unpredictable.  Catch him dropping acapella’s from Method Man or rocking snippets from the Violent Femmes alongside his own productions.  On a playing field of his own right now, it was friend and vocalist RQM that recently coined his new ‘bass’ style, ‘Psychostep’. But that ‘bass’ sound is already a genre of the past.

Based in West London, S.O.K.’s sound & style has already been picked up by various labels including the Stanton Warrior’s own Beat’s and pioneering London imprint Botchit and Scarper.  Recent remix credits include work for labels such as Man Recordings in Germany, ESL Music (Washington DC), Civil Music (UK) Om Records (San Francisco) and Muti Records (San Francisco). Head of his label Way Way Records, SOK has a bunch of releases unleashed over the last few months. Out early December was the single release “Guacha” on Equinox (Germany) which is received major props from Rob Da Bank at Radio 1 through to Simbad in France aswell smashed air waves and dancefloors across the globe with everyone chanting the now familiar ‘la la la… la la la la’.

The most recent single out on Muti Music (San Fran) was entitled “Playing The Villain” which has achieved over 1.5 Million Youtube hits in 4 months!! Awesome stuff; with Remixes by Chris Da Luca, Jantsen, Machinedrum and Bang On!.

Not a man to sit about, S.O.K. has co-produced an album, alongside the French dj/producer Simbad for the new collective project “Klub Sandwich” with Grems & Disiz La Peste (ex-Rouge A Levre). He’s also producing a bunch of EP’s with the Foreign Beggars, Pav and Ebow out in Berlin and in the UK.  There’s also the matter of his first solo album scheduled for fall 2012.  Remixes for the Go! Team, Husky Rescue and Tokyo Police Club amongst others have dropped creating a bigger and more diverse fanbase.

When not shooting videos for his label or making music for TV and film documentaries he’s working hard on new material for forthcoming European shows as well as Septembers Burning Man Festival;

having recently toured dates in Germany, UK, Poland, France, Switzerland and Australia alongside Borgore, Reso, Bar9, Foreign Beggars, Bar Noize and Distance.

Masquerade, Household Management, and RaveATL present:

The return of one of the most clamored for, and most sought after producer/performers ever to hit Atlanta. Anyone that saw him steal the show at last year’s DUB THE HALLS will tell you why this is an event you CAN NOT miss!!

REDNEK

Big Beat, Rogue Industries, http://soundcloud.com/theofficialrednek // London, United Kingdom
The roaring bass producer and serial crowd wrecker performer, Rednek, is fast becoming a legend in the world of Dubstep. Raised by a Jamaican family in Hackney London, Rednek grew up displaying exceptional musical talent, which helped rocket him to the success that he orbits today. With over 19 years of production and performance skills under his belt, Rednek is firmly cementing himself as a huge player in the world of dance music. In May 2011, Rednek decided to become his own artist (after years in the studio producing other artists’ hits) and knew immediately how to execute his plan of action. After teaming up with Rogue Industries, he charged into the Dubstep scene, humorously naming his debut track; “I’m Not Skrillex”, insuring controversy and attention, as it was a play on the renowned Dubstep producer Skrillex’s track; “My Name Is Skrillex”. As if this tongue-in-cheek jest wasn’t enough, Rednek then wrote and directed this official debut music video to display the guidelines of “How to become a Dubstep artist in one month”. Thus showing the world for the first time that now famous Rednek sense of humor. Rednek immediately became the talk of the industry and he followed up his successful debut video with another viral one, this time announcing who he actually was; “They Call Me (Rednek)”. It was after this second video that the industry started buzzing to a deafening roar. Rednek was serious and he was here to stay. What sets Rednek apart from other Dubstep producers is that he performs his own vocals, proving to the world that he is in fact an actual artist who excels at delivering impressive live performances as well as top notch productions in the studio. His debut tour of the United States in 2011 smashed over 20 cities, with him continuing to steal the show at each performance. What Rednek had proven in the studio, he took with him to his live shows and saw crowds go mental as he played and performed his own material live to the masses, spawning an ever growing fan base along the way. Rednek is not just another DJ, he is a legitimate Dubstep Rockstar! Get ready for Rednek’s highly anticipated debut album, which will drop in May 2012!! With more huge projects on the horizon and a world tour already in place, Rednek is looking to be an unstoppable force! Soon you will all find out why this year is the year of the Rednek!

After his conquests were completed he moved to Atlanta from Charlotte in 2010 and began to dj and goon around. He hit the ones and twos live for the first time at The Inferno Lounge and hasnt slowed down since. Playing some of the largest shows of the early months of the 2011. And hitting more gigs than most. While some worry about saturation The Black Siren says wtf give the people what they want and is sure to keep you moving with his live hip hop and dubstep remixes.

CLERIC
Phonic Boom // Atlanta, Georgia
An Atlanta native and no stranger to the EDM scene, Cleric, aka Patrick Toney is a true mixologist. Having not so much of a passion, but more of an obsession with music, cleric has developed one hell of an ear for good sound. Since his first experience of the scene back in 2003, he realized the power that electronic music had not only over the audience, but himself as well. From the most elegant of Trance tracks to the heaviest of bass beats, cleric has had a hand in just about every genre there is. With a wax collection ranging from Rusko to Christopher Lawrence, or Plump DJs to Datsik, youre sure to not just feel the music, but to experience it as well. Having just opened for the likes of Mt.Eden and Designer Drugs, Cleric is definitely making a name for himself on the new EDM movement.
